                                Introducing Star and Jasper
Hi, I'm Star! I'm 10 and I live next to the sea on the Jurassic Coast of southern England. If you look on a map of England and find Lyme Regis, that's near where I live. I was born on June 16th, 2005, so you will be able to find my Birthstone and Zodiac Birthstone. What are yours? I LOVE the Jurassic Coast - it's full of amazing fossils and long pebble beaches.
I'll tell you about Jasper because he's far too modest to tell you himself. He's a sea pebble, and aside from being kind, clever, intelligent and capable, with the most amazing teeth and wonderful smile, he's a hundred million years old! We had some incredible adventures in the Land of Gems, and he saved my life lots of times. Despite his tiny eyes and ears, he sees and hears things long before I do. He's as cool as a cucumber, and as smart as they come. He's also generous and kind, and I could not have wished for a better companion through all our terrifying adventures. Jasper is just BRILLIANT!
When I first met him he was just an ordinary sea pebble who'd been trapped in my garden since sea levels fell. During an argument with my mum I accidentally kicked him and woke him up, and finally agreed to take him back to be with his friends on the beach. He can't walk because - even though he's got little arms, hands, eyes and ears and the most amazing smile you can ever imagine - he's got no legs! I had to carry him everywhere in my smock pocket, and he looked just like a baby kangaroo peering out of its mother's pouch! Apart from when he was lost, he spent most of the time in my pocket.
Because I live so close to the pebble beach (we have our own private path through the trees!) I thought it would only take a second to take him back, and I'd easily be back before my mother missed me - I was supposed to be doing homework - but then everything went wrong. The path seemed strange and I got lost, and then I was chased by some Sand Makers who wanted to grind Jasper into sand. They chased me down a steep sand dune, I tripped and Jasper flew out of my pocket and rolled away into the dark entrance of an abandoned mine! I just HAD to rescue him, so ..... well, I won't spoil it for you! But I can tell you, we had some amazing adventures!!!

In Book Two, follow us as we make an amazing escape and then go through the Copper Cave, and into the Lava Field - where we meet Perry, who is a scream! Perry takes us to the Music Chamber, where there are all kinds of unusual instruments! We enjoyed that - but then we had a terrible, crushing disappointment, followed by some more horrifying experiences, which you won't believe! We had to use all our skill and energy, and reach into reserves we didn't know we had!
